Looking beyond the status quo of the modern rock music of today, EARSHOT’s third studio album, due to hit stores August 08, marks the start of what some believe is sure to be the beginning of a new and changing modern rock world of tomorrow. No doubt, that in the 48 minutes of listening to the bevy of infectiously memorable tracks, one can only describe this 11 song collection as a very cleverly crafted, re-defined and re-designed approach to their genre with a plethora of sonically raw and defining moments.
In early 2005, EARSHOT returned from the road in support of their second release when the panicked state of the recording industry turned its ugly head towards the band. “No one expected another EARSHOT record after that” says vocalist Wil Martin. “We were essentially counted out by many. Our departure from Warner Brothers Records only added to our determination not to let corporate decisions determine our artistic and creative voice. After all, THAT’s what rock music is really all about…believing in yourself, overcoming adversity and taking that chance when the odds are against you.”
In early 2007, EARSHOT signed with InDeGoot / Fontana/ Universal Recordings. Produced by Brian Garcia and co-produced by Wil Martin, the band began the long and tedious task of putting together their nearly 2 yearlong gestations of song ideas. Tracks such as “MisSunderstood”, “Closer”, “Pushing To Shove”, “Wasted”, “Don’t Hate Me” and “Sometimes” are sure to please the EARSHOT faithful, and will undoubtedly serve to quickly convert new fans by songs with a penchant for massive hooks and loud guitars.
Shinedown's new cd is set for June 24th and you can hear their first new single on their official Webpage http://shinedown.com/
The sound of madness indeed, I actually didn't know what to think when i started to hear the beginning of the song because it doesn't sound very much like any of their old stuff at all, I guess that's the influence of new band members, but as it progress I really got into it. Strangely enough it reminds me of one those songs from the 80's you'd hear playing in the background of some dance seen.
I always wished we could combine my love of Linux with music. Oh wait! posted by Prowler at April 14, 2008, 01:51:09 PM
You know... I wish I had a better explanation for this. So I'll just give it to you like they do:

A live show in Second Life. Bad enough, but nothing new, right? You haven't been on this site very long, have you? Now, I realize this is fairly late compared to when it was performed, but fuck it, I'm not exactly part of the Second Life newsletter.
The latest quote is priceless, at least (pretty sure it's a goon):

What better way to kick off the new site than with a little Soulja Boy.
God damnit. Has anyone heard his new song? You're not supposed to make a joke into a song. (Insert witty observation here involving all of Soulja Boy's music being a joke.)
Hmm. I wasn't sure if I should file this under the Music category. (Insert another joke about Soulja Boy not really being music.)
Country music, worst music ever? posted by Rad at April 04, 2008, 09:40:31 AM
I'd say it could be so. Its a toss up between Country music and gangster rap, and at least gangster rap songs tend to have an interesting story to listen along to, like about how there homie shot up a convenient store because they wouldn't sell him a 40, or something like that. But enough on that, and more on how Country music sucks.
Country music just cant get it right. All it is, is a man/woman bitching about how their wife/lover/dog left them, their life/truck/dick is broke, and how they cant/can/will try to fix/forget it. I just summed up just about ever country song in history. I can pull a better thing to sing about out of my ass. Seriously, a song about shit would be more entertaining to listen to then this crap.
Then, there is the sound of it. Who the hell thought that a banjo was a viable instrument? Or the Harmonica? Wasn't anybody with taste that for sure. Cause you'd figure that someone would realize that the twanging noise that the steel guitars they were using was making people ears bleed.
Country music sucks quite hard. If all you're gonna do with the music is bitch and moan about random things, you can at least make the MUSIC a tad more entertaining. Country music needs to learn from Emo music.
