As nerdy and pathetic it may seem, I was plotting on picking up a Wii because of one simple game: Mario Kart.
I love Mario Kart. It's easy to pick up, there's no such thing as "Pro Gaming" with it (ignoring Mario Kart DS with its retarded snaking), and it's hard to get frustrated because it's almost all luck.
The best thing I liked about it was 2 player GP.
Guess what? That shit ain't in Mario Kart Wii. Who the fuck sits around and plays Mario Kart by themself?
Fine, I'll just play it with friends. Let's hop on over to battle mode--oh wait, looks like it's going to have to be 2 on 1 because battle mode is team only.
Well, fuck, fine. As long as I can at least use the classic or Gamecube Controller instead of the Wiimote, because I think the steering wheel attachment is pretty gay and hey--I doubt any of my friends just so happen to carry one around (or for that matter, own a Wii).
Classic Controller: Mario Kart veterans can let their thumbs do the driving with the Classic Controller. However, players cannot perform certain moves with this control scheme.
• Nintendo GameCube™ Controller: Experienced Mario Kart fans may also enjoy this familiar scheme, although some maneuvers cannot be performed.
Well fuck. At least two players can play online at the same time with other people. Why the fuck they didn't extend to to GP mode I'll never understand.
